Gnocci with smoked venison

Ingredients
  • 500 gm store bought or homemade potato gnocchi
  • For the Sauce
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove of garlic, thinly sliced
  • 100 gm smoked venison round, sliced into match sticks
  • 75 ml white wine
  • 150 ml cream
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

    1. Sauté the onion and garlic in the butter until softened, about 2-3 minutes.

    Add the venison and cook for a further minute, then add white wine and reduce by half, add the cream and keep aside.

    2. Season with salt and black pepper.

    The mustard will be added at the last minute

    3. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add gnocchi and cook until they float (about 2–3 minutes). Drain and add to the sauce. Bring everything to boil and season to taste, this could be salty enough already, add the mustard and if you want you can fresh thyme or parsley too.
