We have developed a range of luxurious homewares and fashion products. Think bedspreads, cushion covers, hot water bottle covers, Wugg boots (Ugg boots with a wallaby fur trim), Wuffs (wallaby fur scuffs), tanned skins and a few quirky items.
Wallaby & Possum Fur/Fibre
NATURAL AUSTRALIAN FIBRE
Wallaby and possum fibre is great for home spinning and felting. Both have their very own and unique soft feel and can readily blend with wool or other fibres.
These are uniquely Tasmanian products – even the New Zealand possums originate from Tasmania. Lenah harvests wallaby and possum principally to produce meat; the fibre is a terrific by product.
The harvest is strictly controlled by both the Tasmanian and Federal governments to ensure it is sustainable and humane.
Both wallaby and possum emit almost no methane, in contrast to sheep. Methane is 27 times worse than carbon dioxide as a global warming gas. Our fibres are a true greenhouse friendly option.
